Whether you want to start from scratch because you’ve completely messed up your Facebook ad or you’ve reached your advertising limit, you will need to know how to cancel/delete your Facebook campaigns; thankfully, the process is pretty simple.
Before cancelling your Facebook ad, you should be sure you want to! Unlike pausing an ad, you will never be able to re-run that ad. You should only cancel Facebook campaigns, sets, or ads if you never intend to use them again. You can always select the blue toggle option next to a Facebook campaign, ad set, or ad to temporarily switch it off.
To cancel your Facebook campaign
- Go to your Ad Manager.
- If you have multiple ad accounts, select the correct account containing the campaign you want to remove.
- Select the checkbox next to the campaign you want to remove and ensure no other checkboxes are selected.
- Click the bin icon located in the action bar (top menu) above your campaigns.
- A pop-up will appear asking you, “Do you want to delete the campaign?”. You can click the, “Delete button to confirm.”
Cancelling a Facebook campaign will not only cancel the campaign itself but all ad sets and ads within it.
To cancel your Facebook ad set

- If you have multiple ad accounts, select the correct account containing the ad set you want to cancel.

- Click the bin icon located in the action bar (top menu) above your campaigns.
- A pop up will appear asking you, “Do you want to delete the ad set?”. You can click the “Delete button to confirm.”

If your campaign hasn’t been cancelled successfully, then you might not have the correct access to perform the cancellation, and you should reach out to the business administrator to get permission to do so.
